Welcome to my Newgrounds. I will do my best to provide music to everyone that is as free and easy to use as possible. My tracks are categorized as follows:
All Original (Original) Work:
-Copyright free: I won't bother hunting you down, nor will I let a label do that for me
-Free to Use for personal enjoyment: parties or private computer time!
Although: if the event is open to just about anyone who wants to enter (like a rave!), ask me first!
-Free to Reuse for whatever purpose... as long as:
1) My name (Dtr. Guo) and the track name are both clearly listed in the description/credits of the work
2) You use the track for another original work or you build upon/modify the work (like remixing it!):
- This is totally fine as long if you are releasing your work on a platform allowing fair use
- If the platform does not allow fair use (such as Newgrounds!), asking me (by PM) is enough
3) If you still want to reupload without building on the track, say for promotional purposes, ask me first!
4) Any other guidelines (specified in the Description of the track) are followed
-Want to Monetize? Please consult the guidelines for each type of track below.
-NOTE: based on other factors, like what sounds/samples are used in the track, these terms can change just for the track in question. Please read the changes in (or new) policies before proceeding to use it.
Low Quality Work:
-I Don't Really Care what you do with these tracks
-Sorry if they sound bad/weird, these tend to be experiments/practices for better work
-Free to Monetize: You reap all the profits off of this work (although why use low-effort work, anyway?)
High Quality Work:
-The good releases that require a lot of detail to make
-Want to Monetize? Please consider sharing revenue! BUT if you need the money, just ask (PM) me and I'll grant you all the reward
Remixes:
-A Derivative of another's music/track
-Although I tend not to sample from the original track: it's mostly fine to use but...
-I Am Not in Control: copyright, monetization and availability are based on the wills of the original artist(s)
-Exceptions to the Above Rule: include if music/track is non-copyright, if music/track is in public domain or is noncopyrightable
- Then refer to the general guidelines and guidelines for High Quality Work... or just ask
Thank you for reading these guidelines for use! - Dtr. Guo
